This class is suitable for beginners. Students will learn how to properly remove excess wood in order to shape the wood into a flute, how to drill the finger holes, and the carving techniques necessary to create a flute that will produce music. The class requires a knife and a gouge. Students are asked to bring a work or garden glove to protect the hand that will not be holding the carving knife.

*A $10 fee, payable to the instructor, will be charged for materials. For students who are interested, a carving knife can be purchased from the instructor for $25; the gouge can be purchased for $35.

* The deadline for registering for this class will be the week prior to the first class in order to give the instructor time to purchase class materials.

As of 8/25, masks are required
